Track and Field Splits Dual Meet Against Princeton

The men’s team posted a 90-86 victory over the Tigers, while the women’s dropped a 103-77 decision.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field team split a dual meet against Princeton on Saturday at Wesley A. Brown Field House in Annapolis. The Navy men's team registered a 90-86 victory, while the women's team dropped a 103-77 decision to the Tigers.

On the day, Navy recorded 31 IC4A / ECAC qualifying time / marks with 14 wins and a facility record.

"I thought there were some solid performances," Director of Navy Track and Field Jamie Cook said following the meet. "Alex Rizzo and Jess Nangle stood out to me. We had some good jump performances with Taylor in the high jump and Char in the pole vault. We did some really good things. I think we competed well. Obviously, it shows that we've been gone for a few weeks and now it's a matter of what we need to do to move forward and get better. I think the captains are going to lead the group. They understand what needs to get done over the next few practices and get ready for next week as we have a few good teams coming in."

"We need to compete more," Cook added. "We got done what we needed to get done. Now, we have a plan moving for and will see how well we can execute the plan over the next couple of weeks."

Navy returns to action next week as the Midshipmen host the annual Wesley A. Brown Invitational on Friday-Saturday, Jan. 21-22. Live results will be available throughout the two-day meet.
