Abraham, Boamah and Nicholas Highlight Navy’s Final Competition Before Indoor Conference Championship

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Making its final preparations for the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championship, the Navy track and field team hosted the annual Navy Select on Friday at the Wesley A. Brown Field House. Career throws by Joshua Boamah and Autumn Nicholas in the weight throw, along with another big race from Ellie Abraham in the 1,000m gave Navy three top-10 marks in the meet to go along with 33 IC4A/ECAC qualifying marks.

"We had a good meet today. We were very successful with a lot of people competing in some different events and others who focused on one or two leading into next week's big meet. We saw a lot of personal records across the board and some team records as well," said Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Jamie Cook. We had Joshua Boamah with the third-best weight throw on the men's side and Autumn Nicholas with the 10th best in the women's weight throw. Ellie Abraham also had the third-best 1,000m of all-time. We're continuing to trend upwards which lends itself well for the team."

"We're poised and ready to prepare for the conference meet, which we host next week," continued Cook. "I encourage everyone to come out and support Navy track and field. We want it to be a loud and exciting atmosphere as we look to win another conference championship."
