The 14th-ranked Navy squash team (20-3) scored a 6-3 victory over #18 Franklin & Marshall Wednesday evening in its final match played this season at the Prager Family Squash Facility in Annapolis, Md. The Mids earned their 40th win in the 67-match history (third longest series between Navy and another team) and their 27th in Annapolis (27-7).
With the victory, this year's team became just the 12th in program history to reach the 20-win mark in a single season and the first since 2016-17 (1995-96, 20-8 / 1996-97, 23-13 / 2004-05, 24-7 / 2006-07, 23-8 / 2008-09, 27-8 / 2009-10, 26-8 / 2010-11, 23-10 / 2011-12, 23-7 / 2012-13, 25-9 / 2015-16, 21-10 / 2016-17, 20-6 / 2025-26, 20-3).
Match Highlights
• Navy got off to a fast start and jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the match.
•
Wenqing Tang (So / Villanova, Pa.) earned the Mids' first win of the night by defeating junior Sharan Punjabi in four games at the #1 spot. Tang took game one 11-9, but Punjabi turned the tables and was able to even the score with an 11-5 game two victory. Tang regrouped and the second-year standout won games three (11-7) and four (11-8) to earn his team-best 20th win of the season. Tang is now 20-0 in team-played matches this year and 44-6 over two seasons.

• After dropping the opening game to senior Akshat Agarwal,
Avinash Uppuluri (So / Short Hills, N.J.) bounced back to take the next three games, including a 16-14 decision in game four, to capture the win at #7.
• Franklin & Marshall narrowed the gap with back-to-back wins at #6 and #2.

Alexander Orr (Sr / Haverford, Pa.) was able to get the Mids back on track and gave them some breathing room, as he claimed a 3-1 win over Aditya Chandani at #3. Chandani edged the Navy senior in the opening game 12-10, however, Orr fought his way back to earn his 16th win of the season.
• With the win, Orr became just the 13th player in school history to reach the 70-win milestone and took sole ownership of 13th on Navy's all-time wins list. He now has former teammate
Matt Wang in his crosshairs with Wang posting a 72-50 record from 2021-25.
•
Ramsay Killinger (Jr / Wyndmoor, Pa.) clinched the team victory for the Mids with his sweep of freshman Eeshan Sawant at #9.
