ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The Navy men's track & field team won its fifth-consecutive indoor league title and 15
th indoor title overall on Sunday afternoon at Wesley Brown Field House in dominant fashion, outscoring second place Army by 70 points. Navy scored 223 points, while second place Army scored 153 points. Boston came in third with 93 points.

Jamie Cook was named the Men's Patriot League Coach of the Year for the fifth-straight year, while junior
Nathan Kent was named the Patriot League Men's Track Athlete of the Meet and scored the most points in the meet for the second-straight year.
"Winning a championship is hard and we had a lot of things we had to overcome and I thought the guys competed well, particularly in the sprints, the distances and the multi's," said Cook. Coach
Chris Johnson does an awesome job with the multi guys and their performance today was great to see and coach Quiller's guys stood out today in the vaults. I'm happy to see the seniors win a championship in their last indoor meet."
Kent repeated as the individual champion in both the 200 and 400 meters. Kent won the 400 meters in a time of 46.93, while his teammate and team captain
Jacques Guillaume finished second in a time of 47.12. Kent's time was the fourth fastest in school history, while Guillaume's was the sixth fastest.
Pete deJonge placed fourth in a time of 48.52 in the 400, while
Simon Alexander was seventh (49.78).
Kent won the 200 meters in a time of 20.98, which was the second fastest time in school history (Kent holds the school record of 20.88). Junior
Jonah Johnson finished second in a time of 21.35, while
Tyler Yurich placed sixth (21.68) and Guillaume seventh (21.74).
The 4X400 meter relay team repeated as champions as the team of deJonge,
Jay Evans, Guillaume and Kent won the race in a time of 3:11.39, which is the fourth fastest time in school history.
"Nathan always stands out," said Cook. "Nathan and Jacque are the class of the league. They are both very reliable."

Matt Newell also finished first for the second-straight year, winning the race in a time of 9:54.24.
Navy dominated the Heptathlon taking four of the top five places. Senior
Thomas Christie won the event with 5,117 points, while senior
Justice Hood finished second (5,064 points), sophomore
Nick Simmons placed third (5,055 points) and freshman
Aiden Cartier finished fifth (4,959 points).
Sophomore
Sheldon Ulmer finished second in the high jump with a leap of 6-10 ¾, while senior
Benjemen Schneider was fourth (6-9.5) and freshman
Wyatt Shaw finished seventh (6-7).
Senior
Luke Nester was Navy's top finisher in the mile, coming in fifth in a time of 4:04.21, while freshman
James Partlow finished sixth (4:05.65) and freshman
Patrick Gandini was eighth (4:08.85).
Junior
Tyler Yurich won the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.82 seconds, while classmate
Jonah Johnson was second in a time of 6.85. Yurich's time is tied for the fourth fastest in school history. Sophomore
Marcel Jackson was fifth in a time of 6.90.
In the 800 meters, senior
Carson Sloat placed fifth in a time of 1:51.61, while freshman
Dane Eike was sixth in a time of 1:51.81.
Freshman
Gary Choice III finished sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 47-1 ¾, while Simmons was eighth with a jump of 46-10.
Senior
Murphy Smith finished second in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:08.46, while senior
Alexander Kirkland was fourth in a time of 8:09.10. Junior
Jackson Nguyen was sixth in a time of 8:13.82.
"I thought the atmosphere the last two days at Wesley Brown was good," said Cook. "When you are running a meet like this there is a lot that goes into it but I thought we did a really good job of hosting the meet and I got a lot of compliments from other coaches."
