Weekly Rewind
• Navy improved to 7-0 after defeating its five opponents over the weekend in its annual Veterans Day weekend tournament held at Prager Family Squash Facility in Halsey Field House and the Bancroft Hall Squash Courts in Annapolis. The Mids kicked off the action-packed weekend with a 5-4 upset victory over 16th-ranked MIT (3-2) on Friday evening. It was Navy's first win over MIT since 2018. Navy tacked on 9-0 wins against Boston University (3-6), Bucknell (1-3) and Fordham (7-2) on Saturday and closed out tournament action with a 9-0 win against Georgetown (1-2).
• Navy played all 11 of its available players over the weekend with seven of the 11 earning four or more wins.
• Freshman Wenqing Tang (Villanova, Pa.) was the lone player to see action in all five matches and thus led Navy with a 5-0 record. Meanwhile, Matt Wang (Sr / Malvern, Pa.), Alexander Orr (So / Haverford, Pa.), Tighe Mullarkey (So-Jr / Locust Valley, N.Y.), Hudson Poirier (Fr / Wellesley, Mass.), Eli Levy (Fr / Williamstown, Pa.) and Holden Woodward (So / Richmond, Va.) finished with four wins apiece.
• The Mids surrendered just four individual matches among the 45 played and just 18 games out of 143.
• Seniors Matt Wang (Sr / Malvern, Pa.) and Lucas Spiro (Buffalo, N.Y.) inched closer to milestone victories. Wang needs just one more win to reach 60 for his career, while Spiro, the Mids' team captain, is just one shy of his 50th-career win.
