Men's Team Looking for Fifth-Consecutive Championship

The Navy men's squad has won 14 Patriot League indoor titles, including four in a row.  Head coach Jamie Cook was named the Patriot League Men's Indoor Coach of the Year in each of those four championship years.

Eight Mids who won their respective events at last year's championship will be competing this weekend.

Murphy Smith won the 5,000m event last year with a time of 14:03.10.

Nathan Kent, who was named the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships Men's Track Athlete of the Meet and was the men's highest point scorer, looks to retain his 200m and 400m individual titles. Kent broke the championship record in the 400m with a time of 46.83. The Rocklin, Calif., native then shattered the Navy record in the 200m to claim first place with a time of 20.88. His finish bested the former school record set by Jordan Sartor-Francis in 2015 by 0.13.

All four competitors from last year's championship-winning 4x400m relay team of Kent, David Walker, Jay Evans and Jacques Guillaume return. The relay team recorded the second-fastest time in school history of 3:11.04.

Three of the four members from the distance medley relay team – Luke Nester, Carson Sloat and Matt Newell – return after setting a championship-record time of 9:51.15.

Navy Women Aiming for Sixth-Straight League Titles
The Navy women's team is looking to win its sixth-straight indoor league title and ninth overall. Jamie Cook enters the weekend having been named the Patriot League Women's Indoor Coach of the Year in each of those championship years.

The Mids are returning seven athletes who earned First-Team All-Patriot League accolades last season.

Sophia Richter, who was named the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships Women's Rookie of the Meet last year, won the 400m with the fastest time (54.61) in program history.

The 4x400m relay squad of Richter, Taylor Woodworth, Kylie Bedard and Annie Lemelin return after running the second-best time in program history at 3:42.94.

Jia Anderson looks to claim her third-consecutive 60m hurdles title after posting the seventh-best time in school history of 8.51 a year ago.

Alex Wercinski returns as the lone member of the 4x800m relay team that won the event with a time of 8:55.81.

Wercinski and Katelyn Pepin played an impactful role in the distance medley relay. The Mids recorded the second-fastest finish in team history with a time of 11:41.79.
