Boutin’s Program Record Along With Men’s Team Victory Highlight Dual Versus Princeton

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy track and field team resumed its indoor season on Saturday with its annual dual versus Princeton at the Wesley A. Brown Fieldhouse. The Navy men's track and field team (1-0) claimed its third straight victory over Princeton by a score of 92-88 but the women's track and field team (0-1) suffered its third straight loss to the Tigers by a score of 112-67. Navy took first place in 10 events and ended with 41 IC4A / ECAC qualifying times. The dual was also highlighted by a new program record set by Emily Boutin in the 3000m, as well as program top-10 marks from Molly Mangan in the 200m, Molly Chapman in the triple jump and Alex Rizzo in the 1000m.

"Some good and some bad today. I think we have a lot of work to do but it's good to know where we are with the main part of our season coming up," said director of track and field Jamie Cook. "Princeton is always a good competitor. Their women took it to us today but we were able to get the victory on the men's side. The men still could have done a lot better and the women were a bit understaffed but we will be good in the long run if we take this as a learning experience."

Men's Recap: Navy 92, Princeton 88
The men claimed first in eight of the 17 events and finished with 29 IC4A / ECAC qualifying marks to defeat the Tigers 92-88.
